I am delighted to share that I’ve received a new composition commission from the Percussion Department at The University of Texas at Austin.
The new work will be written for percussion ensemble, bringing together students from the University Percussion studio and brilliant Prof. Thomas Burritt
The composition will be inspired by the so-called “plum rain” that I experienced in Taiwan in May of this year. The term “plum rain” (梅雨, méiyǔ) refers to the period of rainfall occurring during the fourth and fifth lunar months.
