Carlo Domeniconi composed a SONATA for me.

I wanted to share this extraordinary news with all of you. I feel deeply honored. It is one of the most unique gifts I have ever received – simply priceless.

Carlo has been my friend for many years, but above all, he is a living legend among guitar – composers. His music has been an endless source of inspiration, shaping the way I think about the guitar as a sonic instrument with an extraordinarily rich palette of colours.

The SONATA itself is a single-movement work of nearly seven minutes, in which I can hear distant echoes of my own compositional language. There is something truly fascinating about recognizing a reflection of yourself in a piece written by Carlo DOMENICONI.

Abbatia Fontium: Suita recorded!

Abbatia Fontium: Suita (Fountains Abbey: The Suite) for 13-course Baroque lute has been recorded in Italy by Alberto Crugnola.

This six-movement suite is inspired by Fountains Abbey, a Cistercian monastery in Ripon, North Yorkshire. It draws on the abbey’s architecture, history, legends, and myths. Abbatia Fontium: Suita (Fountains Abbey: The Suite) was commissioned by, and is dedicated to, the Italian lutenist and patron of the Baroque lute, Alberto Crugnola.
